DESCRIPTION

"Chess the Hard Way!" by D.A. Yanofsky. Published in hardback by Pitman and Sons in 1953. First Edition. 149pp. A very nice copy of this quite scarce modern chess title. The book is in Very Good condition for its age. The binding is tight, the book stands straight and has no shelf lean or bowing. The internal pages are all very clean and inscription free apart from a prize certificate pasted to the front endpaper. This certificate shows that the book was once the property of ex-England international, William Ritson Morry. The book is free of foxing apart from some superficial specks on the top edge block (see scan). The remaining page edge blocks are very clean and unaffected. The dustjacket is in Good Plus condition. It has light scuffing plus it is price-clipped (front and back, see scans). It is now protected by a superior 'Gaylord' removable see-through sleeve. Further scanned images are available on request. Uninsured postage by Royal Mail within the UK is £3.00. Airmail postage to Europe and elsewhere will be extra - please ask me for details. PLEASE NOTE: AUCTION ITEMS WON FROM BIDDERS IN THE EU (and The USA, etc) WILL HAVE THEIR GOODS POSTED FROM THE REPUBLIC OF IRELAND (part of the EU) AND THIS WILL, HOPEFULLY, AVOID THE NEW BREXIT POSTAL TAX. (N.B. Customers in the GB area will have their goods posted from Northern Ireland - part of GB - as usual). Any questions, please just ask.
