"CHESS, Sutton Coldfield, Volume 9" edited by B.H.Wood. Bound in publisher's brown hardback. All twelve magazines for Volume 9 (Oct 1943 - Sept 1944. Magazine Numbers 97 to 108, inclusive). 306pp. NOTE: No index. Betts 7-91. The volume is in Very Good condition for its age. The binding is tight and there is no shelf lean or bowing present. The boards are reasonably clean (areas of light speckling on both boards but nothing major. See scans). The gilt lettering on the spine has completely faded away. Internally the magazine covers are not bound in. The pages are clean and inscription free (apart from the occasional pencilled tick at the start of some games) although they do have the often seen vertical crease from having been in the post back in the day. The pages have tanned over the years from the poorer quality of paper available during WW2. The page edge block is tanned. Free of foxing. Mild musty odour. Games are in English descriptive notation. Further scanned images are available on request. Uninsured postage by Royal Mail within the UK is £3.00. Airmail postage to Europe and elsewhere will be extra - please ask me for details.
