DESCRIPTION

Mason, James. The Principles of Chess in Theory and Practice.

1. edition. London, Cox, 1894. With a plate with 1 portrait of the author. Many diagrams. Descriptive notation. VIII, 286 pages. Linde - N. 1101l. Betts 10 - 53.

First edition, which is important for its didactic content. James Mason (1849 - 1905) wrote widely read chess books. In this issue, among other things, examines basic endgames, general middlegame strategies, combinations and openings.

Condition: Original binding. Exlibris/stamps Frantisek Moucka, Jan Dobrusky, Cesky spolek sachovni, Sachovni club Dobrusky. Inside yellowed and a little stained, some pages with minor tears. Binding rubbed and bumped.
