First edition, which is important for its didactic content. James Mason (1849 - 1905) wrote widely read chess books. In this issue, among other things, examines basic endgames, general middlegame strategies, combinations and openings.
Condition: Original binding. Exlibris/stamps Frantisek Moucka, Jan Dobrusky, Cesky spolek sachovni, Sachovni club Dobrusky. Inside yellowed and a little stained, some pages with minor tears. Binding rubbed and bumped.
