A privately bound (in green hardback) volume of three "California Chess Reporter" supplements from the 1950s. The volume starts with the Anderssen vs Steinitz match of 1866 (Betts 27-13). This is stated as being "Supplement No.2 of Sept 1952". 30pp. There follows another supplement but the cover page and date of issue is missing. This is for the Steinitz vs Lasker match of 1894 (This tallies with the "California Chess Reporter" supplement No.1 - see Betts 27-21). 28pp. Finally there is "Supplement No.3 of July 1955" that covers the Marshall vs Capablanca match of 1909 ( Betts 27-28). 31pp. All games are given in English descriptive notation. The volume is in Very Good condition for its age. The boards are very clean and the binding is tight with no shelf lean or bowing present. The internal pages are all very clean and inscription free. The volume is free of foxing. It is obvious that this volume has been well cared for over the years. The legend "Steinitz v Lasker, etc" has been neatly added in white marker pen on the spine. Further scanned images are available on request. Uninsured postage by Royal Mail within the UK is £2.00. Airmail postage to Europe and elsewhere will be extra - please ask me for details. PLEASE NOTE: AUCTION ITEMS WON FROM BIDDERS IN THE EU (and The USA, etc) WILL HAVE THEIR GOODS POSTED FROM THE REPUBLIC OF IRELAND (part of the EU) AND THIS WILL, HOPEFULLY, AVOID THE NEW BREXIT POSTAL TAX. (N.B. Customers in the GB area will have their goods posted from Northern Ireland - part of GB - as usual). Any questions, please just ask.
