DESCRIPTION

"My Best Games of Chess, 1905-30" by Savilly Tartakower. Published in hardback by Bell and Sons in 1953. First Edition. 250pp. Betts 29-146. The book is in Very Good condition for its age. The boards are very clean. The binding is tight and there is no shelf lean or bowing present. The edge blocks have a few specks of foxing on (see scans) but this does not extend to any of the internal pages. The gilt lettering on the spine has faded but is still readable. The internal pages are all very clean and inscription free and the book has clearly been well cared for over the years. The dustjacket is in Good condition. It has a miniscule area of loss at the head of the spine to note plus a larger area at the tail of the spine. Both areas have been neatly camouflaged by a similar coloured piece of paper being affixed to the missing areas (see scans). The result is quite pleasing, imho. The dustjacket is now protected by a removable see-through sleeve. Games are given in English descriptive notation. Further scanned images are available on request. Uninsured postage by Royal Mail within the UK is £3.50. Postage to Europe and elsewhere will be extra - please ask me for details. PLEASE NOTE: AUCTION ITEMS WON FROM BIDDERS IN THE EU (and The USA, etc) WILL HAVE THEIR GOODS POSTED FROM THE REPUBLIC OF IRELAND (part of the EU) AND THIS WILL, HOPEFULLY, AVOID THE NEW BREXIT POSTAL TAX. (N.B. Customers in the GB area will have their goods posted from Northern Ireland - part of GB - as usual). Any questions, please just ask.
