A double volume: "CHESS, Sutton Coldfield, Volumes 7 & 8" edited by B.H.Wood. Bound in brown hardback. Betts 7-91. Di Felice 491. Includes indexes. The volume is in Good Plus condition for its age. The binding is tight and there is no shelf lean or bowing present. The boards are reasonably clean although they do have a few small stain marks on them (see scans). Internally the volume is very clean and appears to be both inscription and annotation free. Several, but not all, of the magazines have the often seen vertical (postal) crease on them. The volume is free of foxing. The page edge blocks are tanned from age. Volume 7 runs from Oct 1941 - Sept 1942 (Magazine Numbers 73 to 84, inclusive) while Volume 8 runs from Oct 1942 - Sept 1943 (Magazine numbers 85 to 96, inclusive ). 188pp + 200pp. The gilt lettering on the spine is faded but still readable. The internal pages have tanned over the years from the poorer quality of paper available during WW2. Very mild musty odour, as usual. Games are in English descriptive notation. Further scanned images are available on request. Uninsured postage by Royal Mail within the UK is £4.00. Airmail postage to Europe and elsewhere will be extra - please ask me for details. PLEASE NOTE: AUCTION ITEMS WON FROM BIDDERS IN THE EU (and The USA, etc) WILL HAVE THEIR GOODS POSTED FROM THE REPUBLIC OF IRELAND (part of the EU) AND THIS WILL, HOPEFULLY, AVOID THE NEW BREXIT POSTAL TAX. (N.B. Customers in the GB area will have their goods posted from Northern Ireland - part of GB - as usual). Any questions, please just ask.
