DESCRIPTION

"Zaanstreek International Schaaktournooi, 1946" by Schelfhout and Kottnauer. Published in hardback by Jacob van Campen in Amsterdam in around 1946. Presumed First Edition. In Dutch language and Algebraic notation. 134 large pages. L/N: 5699. The book is in Good Minus condition for its age. The binding is tight although there is an obvious shelf lean present. The rear board suffers from staining. The internal pages are all clean and unmarked although lightly tanned from the poorer quality of paper available so soon after WW2. The book is inscription and annotation free. The book is free of foxing internally but the top and side edge blocks have several specks (see scans). The front endpaper is missing. Published in a pictorial cover, without a dustjacket. Several pen cartoons of the players. Further scanned images are available on request. Uninsured postage by Royal Mail within the UK is £3.00. Airmail postage to Europe and elsewhere will be extra - please ask me for details. PLEASE NOTE: AUCTION ITEMS WON FROM BIDDERS IN THE EU (and The USA, etc) WILL HAVE THEIR GOODS POSTED FROM THE REPUBLIC OF IRELAND (part of the EU) AND THIS WILL, HOPEFULLY, AVOID THE NEW BREXIT POSTAL TAX. (N.B. Customers in the GB area will have their goods posted from Northern Ireland - part of GB - as usual). Any questions, please just ask.
