DESCRIPTION

A scarce chess booklet: "The 1953 Hastings Congress" by W. Ritson Morry. Published in softback by En Passant Publications in 1953. First Edition. 41pp. Betts 25-219. One could assume that this booklet details the events of the famous Hastings Christmas and New Year congress of 1953/54 but it does not. In fact, it covers the British Chess Championships that were held in Hastings in August 1953 (1. Yanofsky 2. Milner-Barry 3. Wade). The booklet is in Good Plus condition for its age. The covers have faded but are clean. There is mild damage to the cover edges as a result of the flimsy paper used. Internally the volume is in very clean condition and is inscription/annotation and foxing free. Games are given in English descriptive notation. Uncommon. Further scanned images are available on request. Uninsured postage by Royal Mail within the UK is £2.00. Airmail postage to Europe and elsewhere will be extra - please ask me for details. PLEASE NOTE: AUCTION ITEMS WON FROM BIDDERS IN THE EU (and The USA, etc) WILL HAVE THEIR GOODS POSTED FROM THE REPUBLIC OF IRELAND (part of the EU) AND THIS WILL, HOPEFULLY, AVOID THE NEW BREXIT POSTAL TAX. (N.B. Customers in the GB area will have their goods posted from Northern Ireland - part of GB - as usual). Any questions, please just ask.
