Persons in the photo, from the left: ???, Frantisek Blatny (1st reserve), Julius Kozma (2nd board), Miroslav Filip (1st board), Jiri Vesely (4th board). Josef Marsalek, Czechoslovak board no.3, is not present.
Biographical data:
GM Miroslav Filip (1928-2009), the best Czechoslovak player in 1950s, one of world's best chess players around 1960, World Championship Candidate 1956 and 1962. Multiple Czechoslovak chess champion. He played in 12 olympiads
Julius Kozma (1929-2009), Slovak IM, one of the best Slovak players for years. Noted chess writer, journalist, author of several books.
Jiri Vesely (1932-2009), Czech master, member of Czechoslovak team, which won the first World Student championship in Oslo 1954 - Vesely scored 5,5 points of 7 games. Noted chess writer, journalist, author of several books, some of which became bestsellers. Germanist, Professor of the Charles University in Prague.
Frantisek Blatny (1933-2015), Czech Master, Czechoslovak co-champion in 1964, father of GM Pavel Blatny.
