"CHESS, Sutton Coldfield, Volume 19". Edited by B.H.Wood. Bound in publisher's brown hardback. Magazine issue numbers 217 - 228, inclusive (Oct 1953 - Sept 1954). 184pp. Betts 7-91. Di Felice 491. Includes index. The volume is in Good Plus condition for its age. The boards are clean and the binding is tight although there is evidence of very mild bowing on the outer boards (see scan). This issue may be corrected somewhat by a period of time under some heavy books. There is a removable see-through laminate cover currently on the volume and a previous owner's bookplate on the front pastedown. The gilt lettering on the spine has faded away. Internally the pages are very clean and inscription free. The volume is free of foxing. None of the pages have the often seen vertical postal crease. The pages have a very mild musty odour from poor storage conditions in the past. Some people dislike this while others find it quite endearing. Internal magazine pages are a little tanned from age but not as much as WW2 era volumes. Games are in English descriptive notation. Surprisingly scarcer than earlier CHESS, Sutton Coldfield volumes, in my experience. Further scanned images are available on request. Uninsured postage by Royal Mail within the UK is £3.00. Airmail postage to Europe and elsewhere will be extra - please ask me for details. PLEASE NOTE: AUCTION ITEMS WON FROM BIDDERS IN THE EU (and The USA, etc) WILL HAVE THEIR GOODS POSTED FROM THE REPUBLIC OF IRELAND (part of the EU) AND THIS WILL, HOPEFULLY, AVOID THE NEW BREXIT POSTAL TAX. (N.B. Customers in the GB area will have their goods posted from Northern Ireland - part of GB - as usual). Any questions, please just ask.
