"Mate in Two Moves: A Treatise on the Two-Move Chess Problem" by Brian Harley. Published in hardback by George Bell and Sons in 1931. First Edition. Betts 34-7. 211pp. The book is in Good Minus condition for its age. The binding is tight and there is no shelf lean or bowing present. The boards are stained and discoloured somewhat. The internal pages are clean and inscription free but the book feels as though it has been quite well read over the years. The pages have tanned from age and some have light foxing specks on (mainly to the start and end of the book). The most serious depredation to the book is the ugly browning and foxing along the page edge blocks (see scan). The book has had a simple brown paper dustjacket added to it which can be easily removed should any new owner not desire it. Positions are given in English descriptive notation. Further scanned images are available on request. Postage by Royal Mail within the UK is £2.50. Airmail postage to Europe and elsewhere will be extra - please ask me for details. PLEASE NOTE: AUCTION ITEMS WON FROM BIDDERS IN THE EU (and The USA, etc) WILL HAVE THEIR GOODS POSTED FROM THE REPUBLIC OF IRELAND (part of the EU) AND THIS WILL, HOPEFULLY, AVOID THE NEW BREXIT POSTAL TAX. (N.B. Customers in the GB area will have their goods posted from Northern Ireland - part of GB - as usual). Any questions, please just ask.
