Excellent to as new: The book is practically like new. It only has 2 minimal defects: a very small scratch on the upper end of the spine next to back cover, and 3 tiny stains on the lower outside corner of the safeguard, also affecting the inside of the front cover.
This book traces the adventurous chess career of Grandmaster Friðrik Ólafsson. It creates a close-up of fellow travelers and the political atmosphere, stories of major events and unique cultural heritage. The book traces many of Friðrik's important encounters during a long chess career.
An absolutely spectacular book, with a beautiful design, and with extraordinary content: dozens of photographs, many crosstables, 158 annotated games (some extensively analyzed, and very few are positions from the middlegame or the endgame). An indispensable book on the legend of Icelandic Chess.
