"Groningen, 1946 - Het Staunton Wereldschaaktournai" by M. Euwe and H. Kmoch. Published in hardback by J. Niemeijer in 1947. First Edition. In Dutch language and algebraic notation. LN: 5677. 392 large pages The book is in Good condition for its age. The binding is good (not "tight" as there is a little movement to the spine) and the book has no shelf lean or bowing present. The boards are clean although the gilt lettering is scuffed and faded. The page edge blocks are tanned from age and handling (especially the long, side edge). Internally the front endpaper has a sticker on it and the half-title page has a previous owner's name in red ink. The remainder of the book is clean and inscription free apart from an occasional 'X' placed at the start of a few games. The poor quality of paper available so soon after WW2 means that the internal pages have tanned a little and are rough to the touch. The publishers compensated for this by the addition of several pages of glossy B&W photos. No dustjacket. An historic tournament volume. Further scanned images are available on request. Uninsured postage by Royal Mail within the UK is £4.00. Airmail postage to Europe and elsewhere will be extra - please ask me for details.
