DESCRIPTION

"De la Bourdonnais vs McDonnell, 1834" by Carl Utterberg. Published in hardback by McFarland & Co in 2005. First Edition. 404 large pages. At first glance the book appears to be in Near Fine, unread condition. The binding is tight and there is no shelf lean or bowing present. The boards are very clean (apart from the residue of a price sticker on the rear board. See scan). The pages are all very clean and are inscription/annotation and foxing free. HOWEVER, the book has a RARE BINDING ERROR whereby the boards have been bound both back to front AND upside down so that, upon opening what should be the first page, the reader is greeted by the very last page, upside down (see last scan). The issue is easily rectified by simply turning the book "back to front" and all is back to normal again. Published without a dustjacket. Games are given in Algebraic notation. Scarce. Further scanned images are available on request. Uninsured postage by Royal Mail within the UK is £4.00. Airmail postage to Europe and elsewhere will be extra - please ask me for details. PLEASE NOTE: AUCTION ITEMS WON FROM BIDDERS IN THE EU (and The USA, etc) WILL HAVE THEIR GOODS POSTED FROM THE REPUBLIC OF IRELAND (part of the EU) AND THIS WILL, HOPEFULLY, AVOID THE NEW BREXIT POSTAL TAX. (N.B. Customers in the GB area will have their goods posted from Northern Ireland - part of GB - as usual). Any questions, please just ask.
