Schachzeitung 1848 (volume 3).
Berlin 1848. Later binding with handwritten lettering on spine. 468 pages + bound in: (2), XXXVIII pages = Inhalt der ersten zehn Jahgaenge der Berliner Schachzeitung 1846-1855. Size 22,5 cm. In German. The weight 560 grams. LN 6047.
Fair to good: one small paper label on top of cover and another on spine. Top corner of front free endpaper torn off approx 2 x 3 cm. Old Yugoslavian stamp and title of the magazine in pen on the first page, otherwise no writings in the text. Pages are OK, a few pages at the end are slightly foxed, but nothing serious.
Missing frontispiece and title/index, otherwise complete volume, 12 issues. Covers are not bound in.
The table of contents for the 1846-1855 volumes, which is bound at the end, was published in 1857.
(Published monthly from 1846. Originally published with title Schachzeitung, respectively Schachzeitung der Berliner Schachgesellschaft, it was renamed to Deutsche Schachzeitung in 1872).
