DESCRIPTION

"ELCK WAT WILS WEDSTRIJD 1941" No. 10

NEDERLANDSE BOND VAN PROBLEEMVRIENDEN

Not in L/N

"ELCK WAT WILS WEDSTRIJD 1941" No. 10. Nederlandse Bond van Probleemvrienden (N.B.V.P.).

Eindhoven, Nederlandse Bond van Probleemvrienden, (1941). Original publisher softback oblong edition. 16 pages (covers included). 13,5 x 21,7 cm. In Dutch.

Fair to good: Normal defects: some browning (mainly in edges, and stronger next to the spine of the front cover), some light wrinkles, written solution of the 1st move or a couple of words in pencil (erasable) in 42 diagrams of the 99 (although in nº 26 on page 5 the solution is more extensive) and few stains (most visible on covers).

Not in L/N. RARE AND VERY SCARCE AND EXTREMELY HARD TO FIND. For example, of the complete run of 18 published numbers, the "Max Euwe Centrum" has 12, and the Amsterdam University Library only 6.

The “Elck Wat Wils Wedstrijd” was a popular annual tourney in composing, solving and judging, of Nederlandse Bond van Probleemvrienden.

The present No. 10 of “Elck Wat Wils Wedstrijd” consists of the following sections:

AFDELING TWEEZETTEN. (Klasse A: CD2 A; WD2 A; OD2 A). 31 Problems. Pages 2-5.

AFDELING TWEEZETTEN. (Klasse B: CD2 B; WD2 B; OD2 B). 17 Problems. Pages 6-8.

AFDELING DRIEZETTEN. (CD3; WD3; OD3). 26 Problems. Pages 8-11.

AFDELING ZELFMATTEN IN TWEEZETTEN. (CZ2; WZ2; OZ2). 14 Problems. Pages 12-13.

AFDELING ZELFMATTEN IN DRIEZETTEN (CZ3; WZ3; OZ3). 11 Problems. Pages 14-15.

The solutions of the problems are not present, logically, as readers and participants should try to resolve them.

I think that "ELCK WAT WILS WEDSTRIJD" van den Nederlandse Bond van Probleemvrienden was published, as Yearbook, between 1932 and 1953. In total, if my information is correct, were published 18 volumes. "One volume published in 1945-1946, and publication suspended 1950-1952" (Chess Periodicals-Di Felice). Some sources, like Di Felice, it appears 1933 as the first year of publication. However, as the same information provided by it, the volume of the present auction would be No. 9, and is actually the No. 10. I suppose that the information that appears in the following link, which appears 1932 as the first year of publication is correct: https://kb.on.worldcat.org/oclc/906745839. Di Felice error is to be considered as independent "Drievliegenwedstrijd" (Di Felice 2960) as publication different from "Elck Wat Wils Wedstrijd" (Di Felice 2965), when in fact it is the first volume. It thus appears in the following link: https://kb.on.worldcat.org/oclc/37605461.

So the correct relationship of all volumes is as follows:

1932 - No. 1

1933 - No. 2

1934 - No. 3

1935 - No. 4

1936 - No. 5

1937 - No. 6

1938 - No. 7

1939 - No. 8

1940 - No. 9

1941 - No. 10

1942 - No. 11

1943 - No. 12

1944 - No. 13

1946 - No. 14

1947 - No. 15

1948 - No. 16

1949 - No. 17

1953 - No. 18
