Leeds, WHITEHEAD & MILLER LTD., 1931. Original publisher stapled and glued sofback edition. 328 pages (including Title page) with 7 portraits + 1 group photo, a few illustrations, tables. 18,5 x 12 cm. In English.
Good: Binding with slight wear and soil, paper browned. Staples rusty. In similar condition to the rest of the following Yearbooks, with some stain on the covers, especially on the back cover. In addition to the 3 photos of the covers and the spine (as in the remaining Yearbooks), as well as 5 additional photos showing the "construction and order" of the content, identical in the later Yearbooks. Otherwise inside clean in good to very good condition.

"An extension of the Southern Counties Chess Union Yearbook, including all chess unions, although not all the individual county associations are represented in this first issue. It is a record of the activities of county associations and their constituent organizations, in the form of annual reports by secretaries, giving details of constitution, names of officials, results of the season, and fixtures for the coming year." Betts.
Please see the other items in my current auction, as I am auctioning all Volumes of "The English Counties Chess Unions" series, 8 in all, from 1931-2 to 1938-9. And also the 2 Volumes of the predecessor series "The Southern Counties Chess Union", 1929-30 and 1930-1. These last 2 volumes are neither in L/N nor in Kieler Schachkatalog.
In the photos section I have added the 2 photos of the complete set of 10 Volumes, so you can see it, although each Volume is auctioned individually.
