Mikhail Botvinnik (1911-1995), World champion 1948-1957, 1958-1960, 1961-1963.
David Bronstein (1924-2006), Soviet/Ukrainian GM, World championship candidate, was close to win the world championship in 1951, one of the wolrd’s best players between ca 1945-1970. A player of original creative style, author of the famous book on Neuhausen-Zuerich Candidates etc.
