Kraków, "SZACHISTY POLSKIEGO", 1912-1913. Beautiful original red publisher linen binding with gold embossed Title (with a spectacular design) in front cover, with outer edge of the pages partially tinted in black marbled. 8 Index pages (including Titel Page) + 200 pages. 22,7 x 15,2 cm. In Polish.

Excellent: Minor defects in the binding, with slight friction at the edges, somewhat more visible at the corners and at the ends of the spine, with a light and small white spot at the bottom of the back cover. Label in the upper outer corner of the first safeguard. On the pages 24-25, 56-57, 74-75, 94-95, 112-113, 128-129, 144-145, 160-161, 176-177 and 192-193 a very slight part of the thread used in the binding is visible. 2 moves rectified with ink on page 67. 3 pieces added (1 per problem) with red ink, in problems 151, 153 and 156 on page 168. Inside in excellent condition, with very few and small spots (something bigger but very blurry on page 169), and with a light pencil mark (probably easy to erase) in most games.

The old Polish chess magazines, before World War II, are very rare, and especially those of the late 19th and early 20th centuries. This is the second oldest Polish chess magazine, of which 2 volumes were published. In the current auction the 1st is offered.

AN AUTHENTIC RARITY!! In my life I have only seen this book 1 time for sale!! In the 29 editions of the Klittich-Pfankuch Auktion that I know, 2003 November - 2006 June, and 2008 November - 2019 June, a copy of this magazine was never auctioned!!
