scarce Hungarian magazine
complete run
nice contemporary bindings
LN 6166
Magyar sakkujsag 1911-1913.
Gyor, 1911-1914. Contemporary uniform halfcloths, spines lettered. Size ca 23 cm. 1,480 grams. In Hungarian. LN 6166 (there without the last issue of volume 3), Di Felice 1411.
1911: VI (=title, index) + 208 pages + 2 plates
1912: VIII (=title, index) + 246 pages + 5 plates
1913: VIII (=title, index) + 208 pages + 2 plates
Good to very good: bindings are tight, edges of all volumes are a little rubbed. Stamp of previous owner (chess composer and collector Ilja Mikan) on the front paste-down of each volume. Pages are clean. Occasional non-disturbing marks in red crayon in Mikan's hand in the problem section, otherwise text with no writings.
Complete volumes, always 12 numbers with title/index. The last issue of the magazine (which is, by the way, missing in the Hague library) is dated 15 January 1914. The covers are not bound in.
The magazine with the same name was published in 1897. It is offered in another auction.
