The Syrian chess master Philipp Stamma went to Paris and in 1737 published a collection of endgame studies. This reawakened interest in artistic chess. Stamma's major merit is the invention of short notation. This edition contains 100 endgames.
Condition: New private binding, the upper corner of the first 22 pages is repaired with tape. Exlibris/stamps Frantisek Moucka, Jan Dobrusky, Cesky spolek sachovni, Sachovni club Dobrusky.
