Original photo of Ukrainian chess composer Evgeny Sorokin with a handwritten chess problem and diagram on the back. The photo was taken on 27 February 1963. The problem was composed together with the Greek chess composer Pavlos Moutecidis. The manuscript is written by Sorokin, who is signed at the bottom. Size: 14 x 9 cm.

 

Evgeny Pavlovich Sorokin (born on 27 February 1933 in Kharkiv, died on 19 April 2000) was Ukrainian, formerly Soviet, chess composer. Since 1967 he has published more than 2000 chess compositions of different genres. Sorokin composed many problems in collaboration with other composers, especially Pavlos Moutecidis. He was a mechanical engineer by profession. (source)
