Lubomir Kavalek (August 9, 1943 – January 18, 2021) was a Czech-American Grandmaster. He won two Czechoslovak and three U.S. championships and was ranked as the world's no. 10 player in 1974. Kavalek was also a chess coach, organiser, teacher, commentator, author and award-winning columnist.
Laszlo Barczay (21 February 1936 – 7 April 2016) was a Hungarian chess Grandmaster and also correspondence chess Grandmaster. At the 1966 Olympiad in Havana he scored 11/12 as second reserve for the bronze medal-winning Hungarian team, winning the individual gold medal for sixth board.
