Close to Very good: light signs of use. Some writings in pencil and stamp of the photographer on the back.
Prague 1946 was an international tournament in memory of Karel Treybal, Vera Menchikova and other victims of the Nazi occupation.
The photo shows the opening ceremony. In the right front part sit the relatives of Karel Treybal.
On the right in the 4th row in the middle is probably the winner of the tournament Miguel Najdorf.
I recognize several participants in the left section: Cenek Kottnauer (1st row, right), Jan Foltys (2nd row, third from the right), Karel Opocensky (standing on the left, with glasses), Ludek Pachman (4th row, second from the right), Frantisek Zita (4th row, second from the left), Miroslav Katetov (4th row, first from the left, with glasses).
14 players played round robin, the result was: 1.Najdorf 10.5, 2.-3.Stoltz, Trifunovic 9, 4.-5. Foltys, Gligoric 8.5, 6.Golombek etc.
