Good to very good: light signs of use, paper usually browned by age, no flaws, text OK with no writings.
As the authors write in the introduction, this catalogue contains all known magazines, bulletins, newspapers and special bulletins printed in a typographic manner.
All chess periodicals published in Tsarist Russia and the Soviet Union are included. A total of 299 items are described.
According to Sakharov 2nd edition, there are some additions to Sakharov's first edition.
In addition, Sakharov's bibliography is only up to 1966; this bibliography describes titles published up to 1985.
