Casopis ceskych sachistu 1914.
Praha 1914. Loose issues 1-4, 5/I, 5/II, 6-12. (8) = title, index + 176 pages. Size ca 24.5 cm. The weight 500 grams. LN 5985. Soukup 4, Mokry 238. In Czech.
Good or better: cover of double-issue 11/12 is detached and somewhat worn. Otherwise light general signs of use, light wear to covers. Occasionally some pencil notes in the problem section.
Complete volume of a main Czech chess magazine, 12 numbers including title page and index. No plates were issued in this year.
There are two double issues (8/9, 11/12). Issue 5 was published in two parts (5/I, 5/II), each with its own cover. Issue 5/I contains the usual contents of the magazine. Issue 5/II is entirely devoted to the 1914 St. Petersburg tournament.
The main Czech chess magazine, today known as Ceskoslovensky sach, is published since 1906 to the present. The original name Casopis ceskych sachistu was used in 1906/07-1919, in 1920-1926 the magazine was called Casopis ceskoslovenskych sachistu and since 1927 it has been called Ceskoslovensky sach.
In the current auction we are offering volumes from 1913 to 1918, all complete in nice condition, in loose issues with all covers. These wartime volumes appear seldom, especially when they include covers.
