Small 8vo, original blue cloth, split on lower joint, edges rubbed. 101pp., (1) advert, errata slip. Without the frontispiece (as often found). 63 problems by various composers. The first formal problem-composing tourney, organized by Lowenthal, chess editor of the "Era" newspaper. First prize won by Conrad Bayer, second F.Healey. LN 2396. With an inscription from Lowenthal with his kind wishes to G.Fegeler (?)
