Contemporary full calf, well rebacked in antique style, gilt title-label and ruling, raised bands. pp xxi, (i), 170 (including the list of subscribers.) Old handwritten notes to rear endpaper. LN 444 (with 'fruit-bowl' woodcut on title-page). A very nice copy of the first printing with wide margins. The most influential book on the modern game.
