Original photo of Jaroslav Sajtar during his speech at the European Team Championship in Veseli nad Moravou 1967. Size 13,6 x 8,5 cm.

Jaroslav Sajtar (3 December 1921 - 4 February 2003) was a Czech chess master, publicist, official and arbiter, one of the strongest Czech players at the turn of the 40s and 50s. He was awarded the title of International Master in 1950 and Honorary Grandmaster in 1985. He represented the national team of Czechoslovakia at the Chess Olympiads in Helsinki 1952 and Amsterdam 1954. His best result at the Czechoslovakian championships was second place in 1952. From 1954 to 1974 he was vice-president of FIDE. He was often an arbiter at Student World Championships, about which he regularly published tournament brochures.
