The silhouette of an outstanding chess player of the first half of the 19th century. Facts, parties, comments. Lionel Kieseritzky (born January 1, 1806 in Dorpat, died May 19, 1853 in Paris) – 19th-century chess player, famous mainly for the game he played with Adolf Anderssen, which went down in the history of chess as "immortal".

Author: Tomasz Lissowski – journalist and chess historian.

Bartłomiej Macieja - Polish chess player, grandmaster since 1999, individual European champion in 2002, multiple medalist of the Polish chess championship.

The book presents the history of one "immortal" game, chess at the turn of the 18th and 19th centuries, the history of the Kieseritzky family in Livonia. Kieseritzky's stay in Paris in the years 1839-1853 (La Regence) and his participation in tournaments (including the London tournament of 1851) are presented. Problems and the 10 most famous games.
