Lubomir Ftacnik (born October 30, 1957) is a Slovak chess player and writer, International Grandmaster, five-times Czechoslovak Champion (1981, 1982, 1983, 1985, 1989) and two-times Slovak Champion (1977 and 1979). At the Chess Olympiads, he represented first Czechoslovakia and then Slovakia from 1980 onwards, missing out only in 1998. His major triumph occurred in 1982, when he helped the Czechoslovaks win the silver medal.
