DESCRIPTION

Kautský Václav. Kalendář českých šachistů 1917. Praha, self edition, 1917. In Czech. 64 pages, 4 pages with advertising, 12 pages of blank tables, diagrams and scoresheets, 1 blank sheet (out of 6). LN 5910. Soukup 49. Mokry 193. Original brown cloth binding with gold print on front cover.

Czech yearbook from 1917. It contains the statutes of the Czech Chess Association, tournament regulations and many others chess regulations, address book of Czech players and clubs, Czech chess publications 1907-16, overview of chess events in 1915-1916, gallery of Czech chess players and problemists with biographical sketches and photos, victims of WW1 and more.

These Czech chess yearbooks by Václav Kautský were published in the years 1917 - 1919 and rarely appear on the market. The rarest is the 1919 edition, which was probably published in a smaller circulation.

Condition - Fair to Good: spine slightly skewed and a little torn in the middle, book block strengthened with linen strip, 3 tables filled, 2 games written in the scoresheets, handwritten notes on last sheet, the last 5 blank sheets and endpaper torn out.
