Original group photo of the winning team Dynamo Praha from the Czechoslovak Team Championship played in Marienbad (Mariánské Lázně) 1956. Size 14 x 10 cm.

The photo was published in Ceskoslovensky sach 1956 on page 169 (but in much poorer quality).

 

The most known players in the photo:

 

Frantisek Zita (1909-1977) was a Czech International Master and national champion in 1943. He represented the national team of Czechoslovakia at the Chess Olympiads in 1937, 1939, 1952 and 1954 and at the unofficial 1936 Chess Olympiad.

 

Karel Prucha (1901-1980) was a Czech chess master, official and author. He played in the finals of the national championship several times, his best place being 7th place in 1943 and 8th place in 1952. In 1943 he participated in the famous Prague 1943 tournament.

 

Nina Hruskova-Belska (1925-2015) was a Czech Woman International Master and International Arbiter (the first woman to hold that title). She won the national championship seven times (1943, 1944, 1946, 1948, 1952, 1953, 1956). At the 1949-1950 World Championships she finished 12th-14th.

 

Ervin Rosenblatt (1906-1990) was a Czech chess player, organiser, author and founder of a specialised chess shop in Prague, which he ran from 1950-1970.

 

Ivan Jankovec (1938-2009) was a Czech chess master, junior champion of Czechoslovakia in 1956. His best place at the Czechoslovak championship was 4th place in 1967.

 

Josef Ratolistka (1933-2009) was a Czech chess player, ten times winner of Czechoslovakia in team competitions.

 

Condition - Good: high quality double weight paper, a few small stains at the front and more stains and unknown signature at the back.
