DESCRIPTION

Anthony J. Gillam: The Munich 'Olympiad' 1936

The Munich [München] team event of 1936 was held alongside the Olympic Games and was just as politically controversial. 

However, this book is only concerned with the chess that was played. Here is a collection of all the available games from the event - 612 complete games and fragments, together with lists of the teams and detailed indexes.

21 teams participated. Every team match was played on 8 boards. 1) Hungary 110½/160; 2) Poland 108; 3) Germany 106½; 4) Yugoslavia 104½; 5) Czechoslovakia 104.
