A book by Andrzej Filipowicz - a graduate of the Warsaw University of Technology, a civil engineer, and at the same time a chess champion, a Polish representative at 20 chess Olympiads, an 11-time Polish champion with the Polonia and Legion Warszawa teams. Its main goal is to familiarize readers with chess, which has a positive impact on the upbringing of young people, and enables the youngest and oldest participants to participate in the sports movement. The author describes the history of the chess movement in Poland - the most famous games and their analyses, information and anecdotes. There you can find a detailed description of the chess movement from the 12th century to the beginning of the 20th century, including such figures as Aleksander Wagner, Antoni Wojciechowski and Saturnin Limbach, the years 1939-1945 until the post-war period and the chess tournaments held at that time. The book is richly illustrated with black and white photos.
