"Chess Problems" by James Rayner. Published in hardback by George Allen and Unwin in 1948. Seventh Edition. 100pp. Betts 30-6. SIGNED BY CHO'D ALEXANDER. The book is in Good condition for its age. The binding is tight and there is no shelf lean or bowing present. The boards have faded and light scuff marks on. The page edge blocks are tanned from age and handling. Internally the book is in good, clean condition. It is free of foxing. It has a 'CHESS, Sutton Coldfield' sticker on the front pastedown and the signature of English chess legend Alexander on the front endpaper. The signature is in nicely aged faded black pen. The remainder of the book shows several pages with light annotations, usually in pencil, as seen in the scanned images. Who knows, perhaps these were made by Alexander himself, while solving the puzzles? Positions are given in English descriptive notation. Further scanned images are available on request. Standard airmail postage (see An Post.com website for prices) based on book weight will be used unless the winning bidder requires signature on delivery or insurance, etc. Any questions, please just ask.
