"Chess World, 1948" edited and published by C.J.S Purdy in 1948. First Edition. 288pp. Betts 7-106. All twelve issues of "Chess World" for the year of 1948, Volume 3. Includes index. The volume is in Very Good overall condition for its age. The [red] boards are clean and the gilt lettering on the spine is still strong. There is a couple of small, very light areas of discolouation on the boards and minimal tanning to the spine. There is a small contact dent on the top of both boards (see scans). The page edge blocks are clean. Internally the volume is inscription, annotation and foxing free and has clearly been very well cared for over the years. The first 144 internal pages have tanned quite strongly from the use of poorer quality paper but the remaining 144 pages are glossy and bright. All the pages are clean and presentable with no tears or strong creasing. There is a small bookbinders nameplate on the front pastedown. Games are given in English descriptive notation. Published without a dustjacket. Further scanned images are available on request. Standard airmail postage (see An Post.com website for prices) based on book weight will be used unless the winning bidder requires signature on delivery or insurance, etc. Any questions, please just ask.
