"Mr. Blackburne's Games at Chess" by Joseph Blackburne, edited by P. Anderson Graham. Published in hardback by Longmans Green in 1899. 331+32pp (adverts). First Edition. Betts 29-15. The book is in Good condition for its age (124 years old!). The binding is good (not "tight" as there is some movement to the spine) and there is no bowing present although there is a very mild shelf lean. The boards are reasonably clean with fading and mild scuffing to note. The gilt lettering on the spine is still readable. The page edge blocks are tanned from age and handling. Internally the volume is in good, clean condition and is inscription, annotation and foxing free. The binding gutter is slightly exposed in a few early pages of the book (see scans). Games are given in English descriptive notation. Includes sections on Blindfold play, Simultaneous games and Endgame studies. Frontispiece (with facsimile signature, as usual) and cellophane cover are in place. Further scanned images are available on request. Standard airmail postage (see An Post.com website for prices) based on book weight will be used unless the winning bidder requires signature on delivery or insurance, etc. Any questions, please just ask.
