DESCRIPTION

Krylenko Nikolai Vasilyevich. Vtoroy mezhdunarodnyy shakhmatnyy turnir Moskva 1935. Moskva/Leningrad, Fiskultura i Turism, 1936. In Russian. 592 + 4 pages. LN 5506. Sakharov 500. Original publishers hardback with embossed gilt print on cover.

The book is about the second International Chess Tournament in Moscow 1935. Contains all 190 games from the tournament with annotations by the players.

Circulation: 12,000 copies, of which 2,000 in a deluxe edition on better paper Vischimz (abbreviation for Visherskie chimiceskie zavody - chemical factory). This book is on better Vischimz paper. The paper is still bright white even after 87 years.

Krylenko's preface has been removed from this book (only a copy is attached). The Russian politician, chess functionary and jurist N. V. Krylenko (1885 - 1938) fell victim to Stalin's great purge. His name and preface were removed from all books still unsold.

Condition - Good: one corner bumped, exlibris sticker on inside cover, Krylenko's preface removed, staples rusty.
