DESCRIPTION

(Loewenfisch, G.). Tretiy mezhdunarodnyy schakhmatnyy turnir, Moskva 1936. Moskva/ Leningrad, Fiskultura i Turism, 1937. In Russian. 313 pages + 1 leaf. 2 plates (out of five). LN 5530. Sakharov 504. Original publisher's cloth binding.

The book is about the third International Chess Tournament in Moscow 1936. Contains all 90 games from the tournament with annotations by the players.

Including Krylenko's foreword. The Russian politician, chess functionary and jurist N. V. Krylenko (1885 - 1938) fell victim to Stalin's great purge. His name and preface were removed from all books still unsold.

Condition - Poor: spine is taped, binding is heavily worn and stained, several pages have torn edges (the text is not affected) and several are amateurishly taped, paper browned, 3 plates with photos are missing.

Seller accepts PayPal payments
