Small original photo from the closing ceremony of the 1970 International tournament in Caracas. From left: Alberic O’Kelly de Galway, Lubomir Kavalek, Dr. Tinoco (tournament director), Oscar Panno. Size: 11,4 x 7,8 cm.
The Caracas tournament was one of Lubosh Kavalek's greatest successes. He won the tournament ahead of Stein and Panno. Interestingly, he started the tournament as a Czechoslovakian and ended as an American. The young Anatoly Karpov made a grandmaster norm there and tied for third place with Ivkov and Benkö.
Condition - Good: unevenly cropped.
