IMAGE THUMBNAILS
DESCRIPTION

Podebrady 1936 (Master tournament)

the winner Karel Hromadka (left) at the chessboard

photo 11 x 8.5 cm

Good:  the photo is a little wavy. The rear side is a little stained. Photographer's stamp (Foto Farsky, Podebrady) and a few notes in pencil on the back.

Karel Hromadka (left, as Black) won the Master Tournament (not to be confused with the international tournament won by Flohr) with the great score 11.5 of 13. Followed by Olexa 10, Gilg, May etc.

Karel Hromadka is sitting on the left as Black, I didn't identify his opponent (Vaclav Grguric?)

Biographical data:

Karel Hromadka (1887-1956), strong Czech master, Czech champion in 1913, Czechoslovak co-champion in 1921.
