Fine condition: new book.
The book is published on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of organized chess in Slovakia. It contains a lot of information from Slovak chess history, especially detailed results of various competitions, many photos etc.
There were only 142 numbered copies published and according to the publisher the book will not be reprinted. More exactly, 142 numbered copies for sale + 5 compulsory copies for libraries + 3 author’s copies.
The book is no longer available at the publisher, all 142 copies were sold.
Each copy contains the name of the first owner. That is why this copy has my name in the Impressum.
The author Vladimir Hrtko is a chess collector and historian who has specialized in Slovak chess for many years.
The book contains, among others:
- results of ca 65 international tournaments in Slovakia from 1912
- detailed results of 71 Slovak championships from 1914 to 2023
- sections on blitz and rapid chess (26 + 32 pages), with results of Slovak championships
- results of Slovak championships in correspondence chess, solving and composing problems
- results of Slovak team championships
- more than 100 photos and illustrations
- The book does not contain any games or problems
