"Chess Generalship: Volume 1, Grand Reconnaissance" by Franklin Young. Published in hardback by George Crosby in 1910. 202pp. First Edition. Betts 47-4. The book is in Good condition for its age (113 years old!). The binding is tight and there is no shelf lean or bowing present. The gilt lettering is still strong. The - rough cut - page edge blocks are tanned from age and handling. The spine area has superficial damage under the 'crown' symbol (see scan). Internally there are "Glasgow Chess Club" stamps on the front pastedown and endpaper and on a couple of further pages within the volume. The internal pages are in good, clean condition and are inscription, annotation and foxing free. No games. Listed under "Chess Pholisophy" in Betts but almost entirely Military material. Further scanned images are available on request. Standard airmail postage (see An Post.com website for prices) based on book weight will be used unless the winning bidder requires signature on delivery or insurance, etc. Any questions, please just ask.
