"Chess World, 1947" edited and published by C.J.S Purdy in 1947. First Edition. 288pp. Betts 7-106. Includes index. All twelve issues of "Chess World" for the year of 1947, Volume 2. The volume is in Very Good Plus overall condition for its age. The [maroon] boards are extremely clean and the gilt lettering on the spine is still strong. The page edge blocks are clean, although tanned from age. Internally the volume is inscription, annotation and foxing free and has clearly been very well cared for over the years. The quality of paper available so soon after WW2 was poor and this fact is reflected in the strong tanning seen on all the internal pages but they are all very clean and presentable with no tears or creasing. Games are given in English descriptive notation. Published without a dustjacket. NOTE: The boards of this volume are a darker shade and slightly taller than Volume 1 which is also offered in this auction. Further scanned images are available on request. Standard airmail postage (see An Post.com website for prices) based on book weight will be used unless the winning bidder requires signature on delivery or insurance, etc. Any questions, please just ask.
PLEASE NOTE: I AM NOW BASED IN THE REPUBLIC OF IRELAND AND, THEREFORE, ALL SALES TO EUROPEAN DESTINATIONS (APART FROM GB) WILL BE IN EUROS AND SHIPPED DIRECT EU - EU (THUS AVOIDING ANY BREXIT POSTAL TAXES). CUSTOMERS IN THE GB AREA CAN STILL AVAIL OF SHIPPING DIRECT GB - GB AS I CAN SHIP FROM NORTHERN IRELAND, ALTHOUGH THERE WILL BE A SLIGHT DELAY IN POSTING. CUSTOMERS IN THE USA AND THE RoW WILL HAVE THEIR ORDER SHIPPED FROM THE REPUBLIC OF IRELAND.
