Four vintage issues of "The Chess Students Quarterly" published by E.G.R. Cordingley. These are issues 4A (Oct 1947), 4B (Dec 1947), 6 (June 1948) and 7 (Sept 1948). Betts 7-108. The magazines are in Fair condition for their age. The "cover" (a misnomer as there was no actual cover as all the pages were the same) of issue 4A is detached and has chips and creases (see scans). The other three magazines are in better condition but their covers are scuffed. Internally all four issues are clean and inscription free. Betts states that this magazine only ran between Nov 1946 and March 1952 and had a total of 17 issues. My understanding is that Cordingley (and Ken Whyld, who was a co-editor) tried to published obscure yet interesting games and in particular those that had not already been published by the BCM or CHESS. They also gave space to quite detailed Book Reviews (see scan). Each issue had around 30pp and games were given in a mixture of English descriptive notation and algebraic. Quite scarce. Further scanned images are available on request. Standard airmail postage (see An Post.com website for prices) based on weight will be used unless the winning bidder requires signature on delivery or insurance, etc. Any questions, please just ask.
