DESCRIPTION

"A Short History of Chess by H.J.R. Murray (with chapters by B. Goulding-Brown and H. Golombek). Published in hardback by Oxford University Press in 1963. First Edition. 138pp. Betts 5-12. The book is in Very Good condition for it's age. The boards are clean and the gilt lettering on the spine is still strong. The page edge blocks are clean. Internally there is a previous owner's bookplate on the front endpaper but the remainder of the book is foxing, inscription and annotation free. The pages are clean and unmarked. The dustjacket is in Good condition. It is complete but suffers from scuffing and general wear plus a closed tear at the foot of the spine. The dustjacket is now protected by a removable see-through sleeve. Games are given in English descriptive notation. Standard airmail postage (see An Post.com website for prices) based on book weight will be used unless the winning bidder requires signature on delivery or insurance, etc. Further scanned images are available on request. Any questions, please just ask.

PLEASE NOTE: I AM NOW BASED IN THE REPUBLIC OF IRELAND AND, THEREFORE, ALL SALES TO EUROPEAN DESTINATIONS (APART FROM GB) WILL BE IN EUROS AND SHIPPED DIRECT EU - EU (THUS AVOIDING ANY BREXIT POSTAL TAXES). CUSTOMERS IN THE GB AREA CAN STILL AVAIL OF SHIPPING DIRECT GB - GB AS I CAN SHIP FROM NORTHERN IRELAND, ALTHOUGH THERE WILL BE A SLIGHT DELAY IN POSTING. CUSTOMERS IN THE USA AND THE RoW WILL HAVE THEIR ORDER SHIPPED FROM THE REPUBLIC OF IRELAND.
