DESCRIPTION

"CHESS, Sutton Coldfield, Volumes 12 & 13" edited and published by B.H. Wood. Two entire volumes of this great instition of British chess covering the period Oct 1946 - Sept 1948. Betts 7-91. A total of 658pp. No indexes. The book is in Good Minus condition for its age. The (private, hardback) binding is good (not "tight" as there is some movement to the spine) and there is no shelf lean or bowing present. The boards have been adorned in an ugly mixture of faux brickwork and faux leather. The spine has the words "CHESS, Vol 12" in very faded lettering on it but that is incorrect as Vol 13 is also bound in. The page edge blocks are tanned but clean. Internally the magazines are misbound so that the volume starts with Nov 1946, then reverts to Oct 1946 then its in correct order up to Sept 1947 when it skips to Jan 1948. It's correct again up to the end of the volume, where the 3 issues that were not correctly bound (ie. Oct, Nov and Dec, 1947) are bound at the very end. The magazines themselves are quite well read and the vast majority have a strong vertical crease from having been posted back in the day. Some magazine cover are bound in. As stated, the volume appears to have been quite well read and, as such, this is a Good Reading Copy rather than a "pride of place on the bookshlef" type. The internal pages are tanned, as usual. The volume appears to be foxing,  inscription and annotation free. Over 650 pages of brilliant chess, including full coverage of the Hague - Moscow, 1948. Further scanned images are available on request. Standard airmail postage (see An Post.com website for prices) based on book weight (1.33kg) will be used unless the winning bidder requires signature on delivery or insurance, etc. Any questions, please just ask.

PLEASE NOTE: I AM NOW BASED IN THE REPUBLIC OF IRELAND AND, THEREFORE, ALL SALES TO EUROPEAN DESTINATIONS (APART FROM GB) WILL BE IN EUROS AND SHIPPED DIRECT EU - EU (THUS AVOIDING ANY BREXIT POSTAL TAXES). CUSTOMERS IN THE GB AREA CAN STILL AVAIL OF SHIPPING DIRECT GB - GB AS I CAN SHIP FROM NORTHERN IRELAND, ALTHOUGH THERE WILL BE A SLIGHT DELAY IN POSTING. CUSTOMERS IN THE USA AND THE RoW WILL HAVE THEIR ORDER SHIPPED FROM THE REPUBLIC OF IRELAND.
