YATES (F.D.): 101 of My Best Games of Chess. A Posthumous Work Arranged and Completed by W.Winter. Edited by W.H.Watts. Printing-Craft 1934. 1st Edn.
Spine faded and torn with two pieces missing, cloth split on lower joint, inside is very good. Portrait, 182pp. Includes biography, tournament record and appreciations by Em.Lasker, Marshall and others. A scarce book. Yates was a 6-time British Champion.
With an inscription on endpaper - "To R W B Clarke from W Winter. I wish you had known Yates. Dec 3rd 1934." Also with a bookplate of Sir Richard Clarke, KCB, OBE. Clarke was a high-ranking civil servant and also devised the BCF rating system.
