British Chess Magazine 1889:
British Chess Magazine 1889. Vol. 9. No. 1-12 printed in 12 issues. No plates. Many diagrams. Descriptive notation. 496 pages. 21 cm. Index, 8 pages including the title page, was published in no. 12. Published by The British Chess Magazine, Trubner & Co, London, England. L/N 6135. Kieler Schachkatalog 51. Betts 7 - 27. Felice 317. (PS).
Nice cloth binding with lettering on spine.
Condition: Description of former owner, to which I agree - The volume is in Good overall condition for its age (134 years old!). The binding is tight and there is no shelf lean or bowing present. The (privately bound brown) boards are reasonably clean. The spine area gilt lettering is still readable, although faded. The spine tips are worn and bent inwards. The outer (brown) fabric of the board is cracked along the length of the spine on one side but is not loose. The page edge blocks are heavily tanned from age and handling. Internally the volume is in Good condition. It appears to be inscription, annotation and foxing free. The pages are semi-glossy to the touch but it is obvious that this volume has been quite well read over the years as several pages have mild evidence of handling. The front and rear pastedowns and endpapers have discolouration.
Postage EUR (insurance included): Non-EU countries please ask! I try to choose the most cost-effective yet reliable way.
I combine shipping – you always pay just real postage! The packing materials are free.
I send with the so-called "Paketmarke" (for further information https://www.post.at/privat_versenden_paket_paketmarke.php) which is, in general, the most cost-effective and reliable way to send parcels to Austria. One feature is that the shipment costs are defined via the longest and the shortest side of the parcel. The weight is limited to 10 kg. The parcel is also insured up to € 500,-.
Therefore if you win more than 1 lot and the books fit into the same parcel, the shipping costs will be the same as for 1 book.
Important: Please wait with payment until you get my confirmation email, as the shipping costs have to be calculated.
P.S.: Bibliographical data taken from the KWABC database maintained by Mr Per Skjoldager (PS).
